The YouTube channel who maintains this video had some wonderful feedback on their adoptions:

For those wondering why they were not adopted together… that was the shelter’s original plan, but Chompers (true to her name!) became too rough with little Ruggles, and due to his health problems, it was determined that it was in both of the animals’ best interest to be adopted separately. They are both happy and very much loved!”

Ritter’s home, as seen in this photograph distributed by the shelter, has been significantly harmed by this construction. He misses his family too much and doesn’t understand why he must stay in this freezing shelter all the time. His soul has been seeped in anguish and despair. Now that heartbreak and bleak hopelessness have permeated his spirit, he hangs his head in sadness and refuses to make eye contact.
