Dog Photography Awards hosts a variety of canine photo competitions, and photographers of all experience levels are welcome to join. There are no limits to the creativity of the photos entered. No matter which contest is going on, the submissions are always the perfect mix of adorable and amazing.
There were three categories for the 2021 Dog Photography Awards: Portrait and Landscape, Studio, and Action. Judges worked hard to select the first, second, and third place photos from each category. This year’s winners are some of the most beautiful dog images you’ll ever see. Let’s take a look at the final results.
Portrait and Landscape Winners
The portrait and landscape category is dedicated to beautiful outdoor shots featuring dogs. Even though the canines only take up a small portion of these images, they’re still just as adorable.
This winning landscape photo features an adorable rescue dog named Skadi. Beside the pup is the photographer, Janine Ulbrich of Germany, who is surrounded by fog.
Heike Willers of Germany took the second place landscape photo. The image is of her dog at the beach, staring longingly at a bird flying away.
This majestic photo was taken by Izabela Lyson from Poland. In the image, her Border Collie named Opium is sitting in front of a massive river that flows between the Krakow Mountains.
This category features beautiful dogs photographed in indoor studios. These photos turned out so well that the pups could be professional models.
Franca Lombardo in Switzerland took the winning studio photo. It showcases Kairo the Pug puppy resting on the top of a kitchen scale. His adorable puppy eyes are gazing right into the camera.
Kayne the Beagle looks like a natural in this studio photo, and he’s posing right next to a portrait of himself. This second-place image was shot by wildlife photographer Patrick Reymer, who is based in the Netherlands.
The third-place studio photo features an Afghan Hound with lovely flowing hair. Marcus Knoedt from Brazil captured this stylish dog’s beautiful appearance.
Finally, the action category, which is often the most exciting. These three winning photos all captured dogs in mid-sprint, showcasing each photographer’s incredible timing.
For this winning shot, Chiara Hofmayer from Germany used her Border Collie named Nio as a subject. She took the photo as Nio raced through an agility course.
The second-place action photo is another image of a Border Collie, but this time it shows a dog named Daisy jumping across water. The photo was taken by Michelle Dawkins from Maryland, USA.
Jess Bell from Ontario, Canada took this mesmerizing photo of a dog jumping out of a wave. The star of the image is an Australian Koolie named Bazinga.
